Tournament Results :
CHEVROLET Corporate Volleyball & Throwball Championship concluded here in great style at Nehru Stadium this weekend. Despite the overcast clouds, it was an amazing spirit displayed by the 24 Mens Volleyball Teams and the 9 Womens Throwball Teams.
Volleyball:
Volleyball was played on a Knockout Basis but the 1st round winners entered the CHEVROLET GOLD CUP and the Losers of 1st Round entered CHEVROLET SILVER CUP, giving every participant a second chance. The competition of equivalents turned out to be interesting as most of the matches went to the final set.
Overall the CHEVROLET GOLD CUP was won by TCS eServe in an exciting finals beating Cognizant in the final set. The scores were 20-25, 25-17, 25-21. The winners received exclusive trophies along with a cash award of Rs.5,000/-
In the fight for the CHEVROLET SILVER CUP, the finals was played between Ajuba Solutions who defeated iSoft 2-0. The scores being 25-19, 25-20. The winners AJUBA SOLUTIONS got the SILVER CUP along with Rs.3,000/- Cash Award.
Throwball:
Throwball was another added attraction with 9 Corporate Teams participating in it. The games saw amazing cheering levels and Siemens won the CHEVROLET Best Cheering Team Award.
The event was on a League Cum Knockout Basis, with the Top 3 teams qualifying for the finals. The Finalist were Siemens, Wipro and Cognizant. CTS defeated Siemens by 2-0 in the 1st finals by 15-7 & 15-12. In the 2nd finals, Wipro beats Cognizant 2-0 by 15-6, 15-9. In the 3rd finals, Wipro defeated Siemens 2-0 with scores of 15-4, 15-11 emerging as the overall champions in the CHEVROLET Corporate Throwball Championship and Cognizant as the Runner Up in the event.
The prizes were awarded by Members of CHEVROLET KLN Motors and Rainbow Home Care.
CHEVROLET is the title sponsor of the event and is also supported by Pro Sport, Gifts N Awards, Rainbow Home Care and Coool Dude.
